Hello all
I have a 2002 build 93 2.0t auto convertible which has developed an annoying whine/bearing type noise when driving. If I push the gear selector towards neutral the noise goes away, but returns when i take my hand off of the gear lever. The noise only appears under acceleration. Are there any bright sparks out there who might be able to give me a clue as to the cause before I jeopardise my bank balance to gearbox specialist.
