(Consolidated a bunch of short posts for the move into one)
Finally scheduled time at the machine shop.
Saturday, the head is getting skimmed, ported and polished.... Progress is a good thing.
Valves and Springs are off... So ready for tomorrow. When I get home, I can start planning reassembly. Woohooo!!
Welll.... I didn't get to go to the machine shop. Had to drop off the cylinder head. I'm dying to get it back....
Today I scored all the parts needed to convert my front seatbelts from the auto's to the manuals. I'll be glad to see those things gone.....
Also grabbed some tail light lenses without cracks.....
Rainy day here.... There was an 86 16v 900 turbo at pull a part. I snagged the APC off of it. I swung by Radio Shack on the way home and picked up the stuff to do the 900aero mod. Finished it up tonight. I did the version 2 for 25 pin APC boxes.
Replaced R42 with a wire.
Replaced R138 with a 47k Ohm resistor.(They didn't have a 40K Ohm resistor - either 33K or 47K - went with more resistance)
Replaced F Pot (P02) with a 1000 Ohm pot.
Can't wait to get it all back together so I can try this thing out....
Picked up the cylinder head today. Skimmed just shy of .2mm off. Has a beautiful mirror finish.
I finished lapping the valves this evening, took it outside, sprayed down with simple green and flushed it with water.
We decided to not do a big turkey day tomorrow. Have a quiet day at home, just the immediate fam. Sooooo, I should have time to reassemble it tomorrow. Maybe even install...dunno....
Well, the cylinder head is reassembled.
Everything cleaned and coated with assembly lube.
Can't wait to try out the new valve springs.
