Zeewolde, the Netherlands, 5 January 2011 – Spyker Cars N.V. (“Spyker”), manufacturer of premium automobiles under the Saab and Spyker brands, announces the appointment of Mr. Rob Schuijt as Senior Vice President Corporate Development of Spyker.

The management team of Spyker is strengthened by the appointment of Mr. Rob Schuijt as Senior Vice President Corporate Development. Mr. Schuijt will be responsible for Group Strategy, Business Development and alliances and will work closely with the management team at Saab to implement the Saab business plan and improve performance. Previously a partner at consulting firm Booz Allen & Hamilton (now Booz & Company) and an independent advisor (including to Spyker on its recent acquisition of Saab, where he was a key member of the transaction team), Mr. Schuijt has extensive experience in performance improvement and strategy development for businesses that operate globally.

Victor Muller, Spyker CEO states: ‘Rob played an important role in the acquisition phase of Saab and has since become a key member of the senior team involved in the implementation of the Saab business plan. I’m very pleased that he will join – subject to approval of his appointment by the General Meeting of Shareholders – the Management Board and continue to support us in achieving our objectives’.

As a part of Mr Schuijt's remuneration package, Spyker has granted him the right to subscribe for 300,000 ordinary shares, subject to the approval of the General Meeting of Shareholders of Spyker. These shares will be issued in separate tranches of 100,000 shares each over the next 3 years.

Spyker’s Supervisory Board intends to propose to the next General Meeting of Shareholders of Spyker that Mr. Schuijt be appointed as a member of Spyker's management board.
