This is a Dutch documentary made by Godfried de Vries and Leo Alexander Schlangen. As the title suggests, it is all about the Saab 900 and its main designer Björn Envall. This documentary was filmed by George van Wensveen and was made in the summer of 2010 when they visited with Envall in Sweden.

It also features other members of the Saab 900 team. The documentary shows 10 of them were invited to Envall's home and they had not seen each other since 1993, the last year of the Saab 900.

In the video, Envall notes "We never understood we should make profit with the car. We know dealers made profit, factories made profit but we never talked about it. We didn't have the big pressure on doing a new color every year or a new car every 5 years. We have done the utmost with our resources.
". And that says everything about the essence of the brand and perhaps its ultimate downfall.

The reports and pictures of the "We are Saab" worldwide event at former airbase Valkenburg in the Netherlands are slowly starting to appear. According to a report from a Dutch newspaper (De Telegraaf), there were 1600 Saab drivers and a total of 3800 people that showed up today. There were many Saab traffic jams in the area.

Victor Muller was at the event and spoke a few words. As this speech was in Dutch, we are providing a translation to English to share with our worldwide SaabWorld visitors.

I flew to the Netherlands just for this event. I am here today to personally thank everybody. It's amazing what Nic, Stefan and their team accomplished in the last months, or weeks I should say. ...

On the weekend of January 14-15, 2012, there were about 100 gatherings and convoys around the world in support of Saab. "We are many, we are Saab" was coined as the motto. In Seattle, there were several gatherings.

The largest gathering was organized by the Northwest Saab Owners Club meeting in Fife, near Tacoma, Washington, USA. A convoy then drove two to three hours south to Portland to join a meeting at Atomic Auto. In Seattle, there appears to have been one or two smaller gatherings, of which I participated in one.

We met at 9 in the morning for departure in the Karlstad Convoy to Trollhättan, the meet up place for the convoy was a local food store called "Willys" in Karlstad.

The first stop in Trollhättan was of course saab ANA, with discount on spare parts, and We are Saab stickers. The green Saab 95 was placed on ANA, it was elect to The most beautiful Saab 2005 on the Saab festival.

Per Eklund and colleague Andy Scott are starting a new Saab rallycross team in the US. X-games is a part of the American rally-cross series. Per Eklund and Andy Scott has started the new team Scott-Eklund Racing to drive the whole Global rally-cross championship in the US.

Per Eklund's job is easier now, he is going to take care of the team and Andy's job is to drive and finance the team. Per Eklund is soon going to ship his two Saab 9-3 rally-cross cars to the US, together with big trailers, for them to transport the cars around the states.

Ally Financial is seeking court approval to take control of 151 Saabs that are stored in the Port of Hueneme. Ally claims Saab Cars North America missed a 1.1 million payment on 61 million in financing. However, the 151 cars are not worth enough to cover all debt to Ally and they are seeking possession of Saabs at other ports of entry in the USA, according to the lawsuit.

Ally says Saab transferred the vehicles to McTevia for an eventual liquidation of the cars. Michigan-based McTevia and Associates was retained as a receiver by Saab and they are dealing with creditors and, most likely, liquidation of inventory of cars and parts.

This is a 9-4X in a one-of-a-kind color. I don't know the official name but it looks very similar to Chili Red from the 9-3 and 9-5. This is serial number 10 so it must be of the same production run as the Pearl White and Atlantic Blue that were offered for sale earlier in 2011.

It's not only a unique and very good looking color, it also is an exceptional deal at $30,000. With the Premium Package, XWD, nav system and rear-seat entertainment, it had an MSRP of around $47,000. I would be very tempted if I didn't already have a silver 9-4X.

Purchased new in Chicago, this rare and unusual SAAB 96 V4 was ordered as a competition car (documented in the service book beneath). It made its way west soon thereafter and arrived at its most recent long-term owner's shop in Berkeley, CA in 1977 in need of repair. As he recalls it, the car was not picked up and became his.
