    Saab Belgium invited a few journalists from the Autofans.be website to experience the Saab Arctic Adventure. The article is in Dutch but Google does a pretty good job in translating.

    Three days at a remote location in Lapland with low temperatures of -30 Celsius may not sound inviting to many but seems to be the perfect environment for this experience. Dogsleds, snowmobiles and a stay at the ice hotel are all part of the program. And of course there are Saabs. There was a fleet of Saab 9-5 and 9-3X available for the select group of people to drive on a frozen lake and really test the XWD system.

      Is this SAA by special invitation only? That would be an awesome vacation. They should re-introduce the European Delivery Program and make this optional. You were able to go to the Ice Hotel with EDP but not the SAA, as far as I know.

      We have many frozen lakes around where I live. How about organizing a SaabWorld Winter Adventure? We would need some help in building an Ice Hotel though.

      Just this past weekend I went out on a frozen lake. Not in a car though.

      The SAA looks like a great event. That be great if your EDP purchase (if they bring it back... like they should) lined up with one of these events, you get to attend and possibly even participate. It would turn your car purchase into a great and unique vacation.

      I didn't realize the Ice Hotel is pretty pricey. The lowest priced room in high winter season is US$350 for a single room and $500 for a double for 2 people per night.

      But I guess you won't want to spend a whole week there and it is a once in a lifetime experience.

      This was almost exactly one year ago. It seems like such a distance memory now.

      I wish the current nightmare would end and Saab would host these kind of events again.
