• Saab Automobile AB - 2010 Annual shareholders meeting May 2011

    This is a presentation for the annual general meeting of Spyker Cars shareholders which is going to take place tomorrow May 19th. At this same meeting, there also is going to be the announcement of the official retirement of Jan Ake Jonsson and the renaming of Spyker Cars to Swedish Automobile according to reports in the press.

    Plan – Saab Automobile

    The restart of the company in 2010 focused on the following:

    • Build an independent Saab Automobile
    • Build an independent Saab distribution channel
    • Complete the expanded and renewed product portfolio

    AND

    • Improve productivity in all aspects of the business
    • Strengthen the Saab brand as a niche player in the premium segment
    • Restore confidence among customers/dealers/suppliers etc
    • Build a distribution channel with subsidiary sales companies, direct dealer concept and independant importer companies

    2010 we…

    • Started up all activities after seven weeks of total stoppage.
    • Moved the 9-3 Convertible to Trollhättan
    • Launched the new Saab 9-5 and new diesel engine programs with class-leading low CO2 values for the 9-3
    • Presented the Saab 9-4X, which will increase our sales opportunities in the US market.
    • Established new strategic business relationships and partnerships
    • Launched an electric car program in cooperation with some other companies.
    • Established a global sales network and the concept of ‘direct distribution’ to dealers in nine European countries
    • Expanded sales network with new importers in Portugal and Japan.
    • Re-established in Canada.
    • Made progress in establishing a Saab presence in key growth markets such as China and Russia.
    • Created an independent Company

    • New cross-carline platform based on Phoenix architecture
    • Removal of high-margin Electrical & Hybrid vehicles in later years (2016 –2017)Sales Volumes and Revenues
    • Review of volume outlook based on 2010 actuals and updated Product program
    • Impact of unfavorable car park trend and car parkage profile now reflected
    • Engineering services external sales and margin included
    • eAWD JV included with future dividend income according to JV business plan

      Interesting to see a planned short model life of only 3-4 years.

      My best guess for JV is Joint Venture. No idea what FX stands for.
