Plan – Saab Automobile
The restart of the company in 2010 focused on the following:
- Build an independent Saab Automobile
- Build an independent Saab distribution channel
- Complete the expanded and renewed product portfolio
AND
- Improve productivity in all aspects of the business
- Strengthen the Saab brand as a niche player in the premium segment
- Restore confidence among customers/dealers/suppliers etc
- Build a distribution channel with subsidiary sales companies, direct dealer concept and independant importer companies
2010 we…
- Started up all activities after seven weeks of total stoppage.
- Moved the 9-3 Convertible to Trollhättan
- Launched the new Saab 9-5 and new diesel engine programs with class-leading low CO2 values for the 9-3
- Presented the Saab 9-4X, which will increase our sales opportunities in the US market.
- Established new strategic business relationships and partnerships
- Launched an electric car program in cooperation with some other companies.
- Established a global sales network and the concept of ‘direct distribution’ to dealers in nine European countries
- Expanded sales network with new importers in Portugal and Japan.
- Re-established in Canada.
- Made progress in establishing a Saab presence in key growth markets such as China and Russia.
