Thread: Passenger Seatbelt Warning Light not illuminating

Hi, a small issue has arisen. The passenger seatbelt warning light on the roof console does not illuminate when someone sits in the front passenger seat. All other seats - drivers and rear passengers work to tell you to remind you to buckle up. The dealer says that the module is missing from the front seat and is not standard on this build (Dec 2010) MY11 model year. This seems a little odd to me. Why would SAAB have sensors active and working for 4 of the 5 seats? And not the passenger seat?

Has anyone else experienced this? Who would be the best person to contact at the factory in Sweden to clarify this technical issue? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi just a line to say the factory investigated this issue and it has now been resolved.
Apparently our build Dec 2010 (MY2011) did have an issue with a lack of wiring harnesses at the time and to keep production going, the wiring loom was omitted from under the seat. This resulted in the wire from the seat to the console in the roof not being installed. So even though the sensor is there under the seat there is no wire going to the warning light......hopefully this makes sense????
Anyhow, as a result of this SAAB apologised and we are getting the next 2 years service for free. This is in addition to the first free service we had in February. So we will have the first 3 years serviceing done for free.
So now it is fully explained by the factory and the offer SAAB has given we are happy with the outcome.
