I created a thread of this nature over on saablink - and feel it needs to be shared more "worldwide" in an effort to help save these even rarer now cars.

It's up to 10 pages now and many have been saved - but many more still are out there and need your help and parts!

I am occasionally looking on my local CL and came across this 9000 today. I have no idea if it is a good price or not but it seems to be in good shape. And it's a 5-speed.

That is a non turbo CSE likely - but being a manual would help it's case as a good daily driver/second car. Looks nice!

Quite a few 9000s for sale here in Germany, I have the feeling it sold well here. I see a beautiful bright red 9000 on base every few days.

Did they ever officially sell the sedan in the US? I think I have only seen the hatchback here.

yes - the CD and the CDE's were sold here for years. I've seen MANY. However this one - being a FACTORY 5 speed makes it rare - and that is has no TCS is better.

1995 CDE's had the last generation 9000 front end also - but had the 3.0L V6 engines and automatic only

Der Wagen ist seit 2011 bei uns im Besitz hatte vorher einen Langstreckenfahrer als Besitzer. Laufleistung 336XXX km (Wagen wird benutzt). Als wir den Wagen in 2011 bekamen, wurde einiges an Defekten und Schönheitsfehlern ausgemerzt.
Alles was nach Kauf anlag wurde sofort gemacht, Bremsen/Flüssigkeiten/Reifen/Rost/Dämpfer/Klimaautomatik zusätzlich bekam er mit den lilafarbenen PU-Gummis eine Frischzellenkur, was die Straßenlage angeht.
8-fach bereift, ist er von der Substanz her super.
Warum dann weggeben? Wir haben keinen Platz mehr.

I have often thought about taking the engine/trans/harness from my '96 Aero parts car and putting it into a '95 CDE 'just cuz' but haven't found a solid one yet/don't really have the motivation.

MOT until July 28th 2012
Serviced 12/05/2012, with 2 new tyres.
Black leather seats & Alloy wheels in reasonable condition. The roof lining has delaminated as has the door lining, but it is glued/screwed/gaffered down & is not a problem.
Taxed until 30/11/2012 - This is not included in the bid price, but I will do a deal if it is required, otherwise I will cash this in.

She is decorated up to look like a Supermarine Spitfire Mk1! - In Green & Brown camouflage.
She has detachable spitfire wings with flashing LED lights, a small nose with spinning propeller, and a detachable spitfire shaped fin.

She has completed the 2011 Crumball Great Escape Rally, to Antwerp, Mohne Dam, Leipzig, Colditz, Zagan (Poland), Dresden & Munich - 2200miles

She was meant to compete in the May 2012 Crumball Grand Prix rally to Colmar, Lake Como & Monaco but a heater hose split on the way to Dover & could not be repaired in time! This hose has now been blocked off so the cooling system is fine, but the heater does not work. (A Replacement hose is available from The Saab Centre or a German Supplier Skandix, or a scrappy may have one). Slight leak of gearbox oil from driveshafts - about 1 litre per 2000 miles - Spare cans (1.5 litre) of gearbox oil is included. She uses no engine oil.

1986 SAAB 9000 Turbo, a classic! Superb paint in rose quartz (silver with reddish tones). Burgundy leather seats, fair interior (some loose headliners and stiching on one seat), quality stereo with good speakers and dual amplifiers. Generally in good condition, roomy and reliable, never crashed. Fabulous exterior.

New transmission, engine, and turbo at 210k miles (currently has ~230k miles I think). Stainless exhaust and performance air intake. Performance electronic turbo boost regulator and rising-rate fuel pressure regulator. Spare high performance turbo, lightly used. New tires on stock wheels.

Various additional performance parts: Custom springs, sway bars, and Koni adjustable shocks. Wheel wells flared slightly to fit 215 mm tires (not installed). Performance slotted disks with Kevlar brake pads. Gauges for boost, mixture, and exhaust temperature.

All work done by professional SAAB mechanics at Scanwest Autosport in Seattle. This is a fun and reliable drive that we have enjoyed for years! Moved to England, so must sell. Car located in Monroe, WA.
