    Transmission valve body removal.

So, my 1999 9-3 auto has been in limp mode for a while throwing a P0758 (Shift Solenoid B). I have the new solenoid (as well as new engine mounts and general tune up stuff while i'm in there).

Anyways, I've got the subframe dropped, the engine/trans lowered as far as it can go (supported by a floor jack so it isn't just hanging there) and I think I can see what can only be the valve body cover.

So anyhow, should has anyone had luck with the engine in different configs (lower, higher, forward, aft)? Also, do I need to drain the transmission before popping the cover? There's no gasket to order online, so I'm assuming I want anaerobic sealant (what you'd use on the oil pan).

    Thanks for the advice!

I would drain the transmission before popping the cover. It's just one bolt to undo, and will save a big mess. As far as I have heard, you just the anaerobic sealant.

Can't answer the first question... sorry.

Good luck, and let us know how it goes.
