I have a 2003 9-3 Vector and when I turn the knob to choose an item in the sid display it does not go in order to choose an option but to options randomly making it almost impossible to set the time or anything else. I am trying to figure out if it is the knob control causing the problem or it is an electronic problem. If anyone knows how to fix this it will be greatly appreciated. I just don't know what parts to buy to solve the problem. Thanks Jeff

Mine does the same thing. I just figured it was too sensitive. No solution but I don't use it much.

If I figure it out I will let you know the solution. I may try buying a new control part to see if that does anything.

How fast are you turning the knob? I know that, any notched style selector knob will jump if you turn the knob too quickly. I can make my SID selections random if I turn the knob quick, even if it's by 2 notches, it will jump way down the list, or down then back up. All I do now is take my time going through the selections, one notch at a time.

Jeff, a bit late, but just recently membered to this forum, and now being sick home, having nothing specials todo: concerning your SiD-rotary knobs erratic behaviour, because its endless turnable, it can't be a resistive potentiometer, so I'd pressume; maybe some light slots got dusted, or by smoke? Spiders-web,...when standing long times still ;-? Are you a smoker inside the car, because that's all to often the cullprit for CD-players as well.

Just my thought,a bit late, anyhow hope to here something if yet resolved: how?
