This is what the first person (me) in line saw ... a brand new engine for a 2004 9-4 auto.
Ended up selling, via auction, for $2250 (and no, I didn't buy it ).

This Viggen (owned by Ed Smith, past VP of SCNA) took home (although he sent the award home with my son to whom he took a liking) first place in People's Choice for Viggens.

A 9-3 after the dyno run ... not so happy as the car shut down during the run (never did find out what happened).

I'm sure the drive to the event was much better in this that the ride home (rain in the forecast - we got plenty of it).

My nice "SOC" wheels. First one purchased at SOC09 in Colorado, 3 more purchased last year in Ohio ... and yet another this year as a spare (although I've dinged up the front right wheel recently, so maybe the "spare" will go on when the wheels go back on next spring.

One of the nicest 9-5 combi's I've seen.

Your lug bolts need some paint.

    Thank you kind sir.

And yes, I didn't realize they showed up so much in the pics until I posted them. I don't like the plastic caps (PIA) but they do work.

Fortunately you can't see the state of the hood in these pics ... it really is in need of some work.
Next year I will be entering the car in the People's Choice show. I would have this year, but I had the entire back of the car filled with things bought at the parts tent (and stuff I was bringing back for friends who didn't have the room).

Had Saab not given the 9-5 a pair of glasses in 06 or 07 I probably would have bought it over the 9-3. I just couldn't get over the "face" the new headlight treatments gave the 9-5.

The plastic caps are a PIA, even more than the caps is keeping track of the little tool you need to remove them!

My hood is starting to show some rock chips as well. I've got a mobile detailing service coming over today. I'm afraid of what a good detail is going to reveal...

I have the plastic caps and don't have any issue with them. I have to remove them twice a year when switching summer/winter wheels and I keep the little removal tool in the center console. And it looks so much nicer than the rusted bolts.

Paint quality on my 2006 9-5 was terrible. Interior quality was not as good either so I am happier with my 2005. Seems like a much more solid car.

I actually found myself liking the new design ... but it certainly does look better in some colours than others.

I recall someone used a permanent marker to "paint" their wheel bolts ... I may have to give that a shot. I'll try that when I pull the wheels off to install my brand new Saab centre caps.

lol ... hoods. I'll post a couple of pics of mine. The road damage is one thing, the other stuff that is going on is just mind boggling. Even with the stone chips, etc, the hood itself is in good shape.

Here you can see the damage just behind the washer fluid sprayer on the right side.

Here you can see (if the image is big enough) damage on the left side of the hood, almost like it has been sand blasted.

I only have 3 photos from SOC 2011, so keep 'em coming, Scott! My camera's battery died after that (heat stroke ).
Ask me a question about your c900! I promise I either can answer it or know someone who can
