It seems that whenever I have my directionals on, every now and then the blinker seems to "skip" a beat. It continues blinking but has anyone else experienced that phenomenon?

It has happened to me, but it happens so infrequently, that when it does occur, I cannot tell if it actually happened or if I imagined it. Strange, nonetheless.

I experience the exact same feeling...

The blinker isn't skipping but rather the sound you hear inside the car is the sid playing a 'recording'. When it reaches its end and starts over there is a little skip.
