    Mystery Vibration

After replacing a motor mount and tranny mount, I am still noticing an intermittent vibration coming through the steering column/wheel. This happens even if the a/c is off, driving me crazy! Any thoughts?

    Thanks,
    JP

Does this occur only when idling with an automatic transmission? The 9-5 always had this vibration even though it was much less pronounced in later model years.

    Hi Frank,
Yes, only when idling. It never seemed as pronounced before. The rear engine mount definitely needed to be replaced, but that did not change anything. I am wondering if there is another questionable mount...

Did you check that front torque mount? Anyone think sub frame bushings could be at fault, I’m thinking if they were bad enough to send a vibration at idle they would make terrible racket while driving.

I don't think we checked the right side mount, Mark. Is that common?

    Thanks,
    JP

Not for your mileage but I guess you never know. It’s just as easy to do as the transmission mount and almost as cheap, got mine for ~$115. 30 min install.

    good luck.
