Paintwork on the Rocker Top
I know that the PCV kit on my 9-5 needs replacing as the top hose feels a bit squishy and I'm getting exhaust fumes from the connection at the back of the Rocker top. I've noticed that the paint on the Rocker is peeling and there is a "dusty powder" underneath the peeling paint. It's almost like a coolant leak residue colour. Could these issuses be linked? As the top of the crank gets really hot. The car only has 104,000m I dropped the sump in May before going to France. Last oil change was a 101,500 ish miles. The sump had a sizable amount of sludge in the pan. More than my other 9-5 at 150,000m. The sump did have a lot of burnt staining on it. Not had chance yet to take the Rocker off. I'm looking at doing some work on the engine, both new PCV kit and a few paint mods especially that the paint is peeling on the Rocker cover.
More things change. The more they stay the same.
