| This is my left-hand drive `Bullnose' Saab 96 Sport named Yke. A fantastic-handling front-wheel-drive car, with a wonderfully sporty 3-cylinder 2-stroke engine. Nothing else on the road sounds like it ;-) I've bought this Sport in England (2009). This is a genuine Saab Sport model, one of very few in the Netherlands, factory-fitted with: - triple carburettor (Solex 34 BIC); - separate oil tank (3 liter reservoir = 1500 km) - 2" Simons sports exhaust; - extra safari bonnet vents; - internal and external Saab Sport trim including rev counter, passenger headrest and wood-rimmed steering wheel; - 4-bolt hubs with front disc brakes; - front driving lamp and fog lamp, rear lamp, Bosch Knick 150 Rally; - NGK A-8 spark plugs and Magnecor cables; - Belmog Classic 303 Plus Rally Computer (Terratrip) - Facet Red Top Fuel Pump & King fuel filter; - XP Niklas front suspension reinforcements; - Vredestein 155SR15 86Q winter tires; This two stroke 96 needs to be driven! My navigator and I participate in the Dutch Historic Rallycar league, approx 10 Rallies a year. In the wintertime the Saab is storaged in the showroom of a Saabdealership. Thank you for the compliments! The car has had some repairments but has never been restored yet. I am trying to find some more history about this particular Saab. "Yke" was in the news on the 17th of January 2010, because of the Dutch Saab Support Convoy, which explains the RTL4 news picture ;-) |

It so nice you were able to get an old style blue/white license plate for Yke. A yellow license plate would definitely look ugly on that 96. They actually look ugly on any car. I think you don't have to pay any yearly road tax if the car is more than 25 years old so that's a nice bonus.  |

Hi Tenfour, what oil ie 2 stroke do you use in "Yke" as i have been lucky enough to buy "another" 96 Sport, first one 30 odd years ago. |
