Hey Mr. Wulfers! I received your shipment of oil filters, ring gaskets and plug. I'm super happy!
thanks for the nice service. My next project involves installing front struts and axles in my just acquired 2005 9-5 AERO. I thought the road noise was 'normal' but then the howling just kept getting worse. When I wiggle the axles at the CV Joint there is a lot of play. And also the backlash in the tranny appears excessive when rotating the tires while on jackstands. Can you post a 'how to' for such jobs? Jeff Lucas, Hastings, MN

    Hi Frank,

I'm having problems with my 2005 9-3 150 model which i wonder if you could help with?

I noticed the indicators weren't making a noise and the stereo system wasn't working. I got a Tech 2 done but nothing showed up on the system. They went through the system and found the nav box in the boot had jammed. After pressing the eject button a couple of times the navbox unjammed. They rebooted the system and we fitted the amp 1 back and it appeared to all be working.

I noticed later that system was only partly working. The front door speakers and centre dash speaker work with the CD player/radio but the left and right dash speakers and rear speakers don't work. The indicators are not making a noise either. When i use the phone (one that works through the AUX port), the left and right dash speakers then work.

Any ideas what is wrong with it or what to do next?

    Jack

    Hey Frank,

I hope you can help. I have a 2004 9-5 2.3T. I get error code P1230. Car goes into limp home mode. I found a hose and a white connector piece. The pieces no longer fit securely. Hose is cracked. It is located right under engine cover between DIC and throttle body. One end of the hose fits into the throttle body. I want to replace hose and the connector piece. I just dont know what they are called or what to specifically order. I dont live near a Saab Dealer. My question(s) is what is the section of house and the connector called ? Do you have a diagram for this line ? And does P1230 have to do with throttle body going into limp home mode due to a vacuum leak ? I am so frustrated right now. I need to get the car to pass smog check. Damn check engine lights !!

Hello Frank how are you doing? I was wondering if you could help me..

I have a Saab 2006 9.3, 2.0T Black, and it has since a few months ago hail damage mainly on the roof and the hood. My question is, how much would cost to repair it? I will go tomorrow to have an estimate from my insurance company (progressive) but I have some doubts its estimates would be low. If so, I will not have enough money to repair my car which apart from this is absolutely brand new. (I am moving and I will have to sell but due to the hail damage the price has decreased a lot).

I will really appreciate some help, thank you and I hope you've enjoyed the weekend. Thanks from Dallas.

I knew Boyne City sounded familiar! Just found out that my dad's friend from college moved there.

so replacing the thermostat and sensor fixed the chime and all the warning lights at start up, right?
I have been having it happen more frequently. Might order the parts and wait till a weekend, and then replace them.

Hi Frank. This is Marti from Finland. I noticed your name on Saabworld-bot's profile page. Every time I try to contact Saabworld-bot about a car he is selling, I get an error message "invalid recipient". I sent a report to the admin about it. Have you ever tried to contact Saabworld-bot? Do you think he is for real? He has a few Saabs listed for sale, but they are all in different countries. Please let me know what you think. Thanks, Marti Masters

Biography:
I was born and grew up in the Netherlands. I studied in the USA in 1990 and moved there permanently in 1994 when I was 27. I have mostly lived in Michigan but also in Southern California for a few years.

My advanced education started in The Netherlands at a private automotive college where I studied automotive technology, marketing and management. After graduation, I continued my study at Northwood University in Midland, Michigan for one year. I graduated with a BBA degree in Automotive Marketing and Management in 1990.

I have worked in Information Technology for most of the time but am anxious to switch career and do something in the automotive business.

I got interested in Saab in 2006 when I was living in California at the time. I never really paid any attention to the brand before and it has been a very interesting ride since I took my first test drive in a Saab 9-3.

2011 Saab 9-4X owners review - Part 3: Performance, handling and equipment

Part 1: Exterior, engine and transmission
Part 2: Interior, Seats and Visibility
Part 3: Performance, handling and equipment

Wilderness State Park, Michigan

The Saab 9-4X weighs a hefty 4,400 lbs with the 3.0i engine. The Aero is even heavier and can tip the scale up to 4,700 pounds. I owned a 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer for a couple of years and it had the typical ride of an SUV. Heavy, pretty slow, vague steering,

2011 Saab 9-4X long-term owners review - Part 2: Interior, Seats and Visibility

Interior

No matter how good the exterior looks, it is inside where we spend most of our time. The interior of the 9-4X is very similar to the current 9-5 in design. While I have sat in the new 9-5 many times, I have never actually driven on. Coming from the first generation 9-5, the 9-4X feels a bit large inside at first. I had to get

I wasn't planning on buying a Saab 9-4X. Seriously! I made the mistake of visiting a few Saab dealers to check out the new 9-4X and see what all the hype was about. To make a long story short, I was very impressed and picked up my own 9-4X a few weeks later.

I purchased this Saab 9-4X 3.0i Premium FWD on 13 September 2011 so that was

Saab road trip - Lake Superior, Minnesota and Manitoba - part 2

by Frank Wulfers on 26 July 2011 at 03:46
Find Part 1 here: link

And the road trip continues.. We're still on the King's Highway 17 which is the longest highway in Ontario. It stretches from the Manitoba border to the east near Quebec and is 1,964 km / 1,220 miles long. That's a pretty good size road.

I often go camping with my 9-5 and a tent. Who needs a big RV when you have a Saab wagon?
