One of two things and more than likely it's the connector on the seat belt buckle than it is the body control module lost it's mind.
Check your plug end and give the buckle a shot of contact cleaner.
@Digger,
Thank you Bro, you're a life saver. Ill report back in a few days. Decided to leave audio stuff alone for now.
The original 9-5 doesn't have a "Body control module" it has DICE (Dashboard Integrated Central Electronics) and TWICE (Theft Warning Integrated Central Electronics). The drivers seat does not have an "Occupied" switch so that leaves the buckle switch. This has already been identified as the likely cause but I am not convinced that a shot of switch cleaner is the answer. I would consider locating a replacement buckle assembly.
@GeoffR
Your input is appreciated, do you have a link for aforementioned buckle assembly?
EDIT: Does an 06' count as an original 9-5?
Yes, the "Original 9-5" is 1997 to 2009, the NG is 2010 onwards.
Part number is shown as 52 03 229 https://www.esaabparts.com/saab/parts/5203229
Thank you very much Sir!
No problem, I have a copy of EPC so it takes but a few seconds.
Does anyone have a link to the seat removal?
Or can I not remove the seat and change it out all ninja like?
Move the seat fully forward, remove the two bolts at the back of the seat tracks.
move the seat fully back, remove the front bolts, tip the seat and disconnect the plugs, cut the cable ties as required.
Reassembly is the reverse.
That is how it was done on the 900 back in 1987 and it hasn't changed, I did look it up in WIS but it is on a different computer.
