The connector that connects to the back of the AS1 head unit? I am pretty sure you won't find it in your 9-5 because all US 9-5 had the AS2 or AS3 sound system.
Ok, I was likely trying to nail this down from a UK post. Is the telephone mute wire still the yellow one and should I just cut it to get the radio off Telephone. Research seems to suggest it is grounded somewhere.
Telephone mute is Pin 6 yellow. Just cut it?
: Ok, here it is. http://www.mitt-eget.com/saab/images/head_connector.jpg
Note that the low level signals between the AS1/AS2/AS3 head unit, the AS2/AS3 amplifier, and the CD changer are not the common single ended (signal & ground) used in ordinary consumer audio, instead it is a balanced (signal+ & signal-) used in pro audio.

The information the tables below were taken from the 95 workshop manual for model years 1999 and 2002. Unfortunately wire colours/colors may vary between model years. There were few wireing changes until model year 2001.

Never Mind: It is a wagon so I was able to disconnect the entire On Star system's main plug. All is well again.
I still need to disable the Onstar in mine. Did you unplug it from the Onstar box in the back in the little floor compartment?
In the box under the floor panel on the right side on a wagon. The on star system is there. On the rear of the box is the large and wide pin connector and is held in with two wheel screws. Just unscrew them and pull the plug out. Ended my problem.
