10/18/2005 Speaker grill
9-5 models that have the right front speaker grill coming up can be fixed by the replacing of the grill, a change has been made in the grill for better retention. All Saab USA parts inventory has been updated with the improved part. There is no change in the part number.
7/27/04 ALL 9-5 models, engine belt installation
Engine belt part number 48 99 548 has superseded to a new engine belt, part number 55 90 344. The replacement belt can be identified by it's shorter length. Replacement belt installation requires bypassing the tension pulley.

9/29/03 2003 9-5 with ESP/TCS DTC of C0131
Check the large connector on the ESP control unit in the engine compartment. Look for a backed out pin in position #31 or # 22.
9/9/03 2002 and later 9-5, TCM SPS failed TCM now locked up
First SPS (or re-SPS program if previously done) T7 then retrieve the TCM information for SPS as a MY03 and follow the procedure as normal.Note: Tech2 version 107.000 must be used.
8/18/2003 All models, difficulty programming a new Air Bag Control module
Prior to installation and programming of an air bag control module (ACM) in a vehicle that has had an airbag and/or seatbelt pre-tensioner activation, all deployed airbags and seatbelt pre-tensioners must be replaced.
8/18/2003 9-5 A/C blows cold on passenger's side, warm on driver's side
Check the system charge as the system gets low on refrigerant the evaporator will become warmer on the driver's side first.
8/5/2003 All models, checking for parasitic draw for dead battery complaint
After 30 minutes, the parasitic draw for all 1999 and later Saab models should be below 20 milli-amps. If the draw is OK, recheck again every hour or so throughout the day.This is easily done using a battery knife switch that can be obtained from most RV dealers. Connect the knife switch to the negative battery post with the ammeter across the switch. Keep the knife switch closed except when actual draw readings are being read. This will insure normal current is available to all systems while time is passing.
7/28/03 All 9-3/9-5 models, Cabin Fan noisy at certain speeds
Most likely cause is defective cabin fan speed controller
7/28/03 1999-2001 9-5, Replacement ACC panel will not program in 9-5 models
The panel needs to be connected to a 2002 (after VIN 23023934) or later 9-5 and spare part programming completed Then re-installed in the earlier car.
7/28/03 1999-2003 9-5, Replacement SID shows TIME FOR SERVICE message which returns after being cleared.
TAC is aware of this problem and is seeking a solution from Sweden at this time
