Barn Find!
Attachment 10490
While looking at Syracuse NY craigslist I found this little thing. I was listed in the town my mom lives in so I had a look Monday with Jeff Paul, and Josh after the SCD in Boston.
First we met at his house, saw the extra engines and boxes of parts, then we went to the barn less than a mile from mom's.
I tell you what, I couldn't throw the money at him fast enough. I can tell you I spent more on gas that weekend than this car cost me. It is a 72, and the last registration and inspection sticker from NY are '81s. Most of it's life was in Cali, with 1 cross country trip to NY and 1 NY winter. Rust free can be used to describe it, but I still think a trip down to baltimore to visit Tony's body shop for some touching up would be best.
The adventure to get it comes next week so stay tuned.

Looks like some work but sounds like a great find!

rare to find a car up there that didn't eat salt and snow for multiple winters. looks solid.

Great find! Is there anything missing to make it a full car?

The guy has boxes and boxes of stuff. I think there is more than 1 car's worth.

Wow, right in my backyard too! Can't believe I missed it. Do you happen to know if one of the previous owners was Bill Seely? He had quite a Saab collection with tons of parts. A lot of 96s and 95s (and a few 99s) that come from the Buffalo/Rochester/Syracuse area were once part of his collection/graveyard depending on how you look at it.
Good luck with it and keep us updated!

So Delorea, PaulH and I hauled it out of the barn it has been in for the last 5 years this weekend. Back in '80 one of the timing gears was broken on a shift and it sat in this fella's garage till 2008 when I guess his wife complained loud enough about it .
