So I saw something while I was looking up other stuff. I used lacquer thinner and a T-shirt material. The wheel emblems are blue and look new! 😀 I thought I would pass this along it may help someone else looking to refurb their wheel emblems.

Good tip. I thought mine were beyond repair but I didn't want to spend £50 on a new set. I tried cleaning mine with a paste cleaner similar to Cif/Jif and they came up great. Turns out the dullness is just muck!
The wheel centre caps on the 1998 to 2009 cars have a plastic covering and can be cleaned up fairly easily, even if the thinners doesn't work fine wet and dry paper will remove the scratches before polishing. The 2010-2011 caps don't have the coating and are just pressed aluminium, the bare metal will corrode fairly quickly but, if you buy new ones a couple of coats of clear lacquer, the clear coat from a touch up kit works well, provides all the protection you need.
Hi there, yes it worked for mine as I have 2004, they look brand new! I was amazed. That is good information to know about the older years having metal. I did not know that so good information. I see myself buying another Saab! I am addicted, lol. I want a convertible now! Thanks for the tips.
