Spring is in the air if you count a foot of snow as spring. I have not been able to do a thing to the car in a few months. I am thinking of having the shell and metal work professionally done and am looking for shops somewhat near me who can or have done vintage SAAB work.
Know any?

Might be worth calling Chip Lamb. He used to run West of Sweden Saab in Richmond Virginia. Unfortunately he closed down a year or two ago. He has a contact link on his site still. He might know some people. For Sale - www.wmsbrg.com
There is also Jack Lawrence out of Jamestown, NY. I have no idea how to contact him though...

I have Jack's contact information from the Vintage Saab Club. Good idea.

Long hiatus and back at it. My dad passed away in January and I am still cranking through the estate, but got an hour in the garage this evening and started to pull the springs. I figure another 20 hours or so till the shell is totally stripped.

Sorry to hear.
I hadn't had any luck with any acme screw people. I did talk to Mark Ashcraft when I ordered my body welts. He just uses stainless 1/2 20 screws in the 3/4 inch length. I have tried searching for something with a .625 diameter head but not really had any luck. He said to use lock nuts underneath and a 3/4 bolt in the rears as needed. I do think I can get lucky on the correct diameter washer for in the door channels.

I'm throwing in the towel on this project. Way to busy and need the space. Is anyone interested in it?

Car has been all packed up and picked up by its new owner who is enthusiastic about completing the project.
I hope he continues or creates a new build thread here
