If your single cylinder misfire is bad enough it will cause limp home mode and give you a flickering check engine light.
Fuel filter, fuel pump, fuel pressure regulator, fuel injectors, air flow sensor, temp sensor, wire connections, relays, coils, ION module, ECM, throttle body, throttle position sensor, sticking vacuum valves, even a fuel logged charcoal canister can cause occasional stalling. If you are going to self maintain a car built in this millennium you need to have a scan tool. Getting all your information from a simple code reader is like using a match book to set the points and your ear to set the timing on a vintage vehicle.
Ive checked the coded multiple times and it only come up to coil pack, icm, and cps. I cleared the codes and they still come back
The Saab 2.0t is the Chevy Echotech with different engine computer fuel injectors and coil packs and Saab specific software. A generic OBD 2 code reader tells you what code the computer set, a good scan tool displays what the computer sees. Cheap generic code readers only put you in the ball park, they don't give you the umpires view and from the cheap seats that low outside pitch looks like a ball. Most of the time a generic code reader will give you the same code as the Tech 2, but not always and if you are still working with the no name / unknown brand name coil packs, you're chasing your own tail.
Not that you can't work on a Saab with a generic tool, but what could be a simple check becomes a lot more like work. You get codes, what are the specific code numbers? What cylinder or cylinders are giving you the misfire code? How many cylinders are feeding how many knock signals to the ECM? I suspect from the way you word your questions that this is probably the first time you've taken on a drivability issue in any car and you chose Saab to learn as you go. Ten years ago that would have been crazy nuts, today it's as good a place as any to start. Go to the first sticky in the Tech Talk section and find the link to download the WIS, after you get that installed, use the binocular icon to enter codes and then use the heart beat icon to open the troubleshooting guide. You don't need a Tech 2, you don't even need a car, keep track of what questions you answer with yes and no and start learning.
