I checked the cobra pipe, and it didn't look bad. However, the hose clamp junction areas to the solid, black plastic throttle body hose we're quite oily. It certainly looks like the charged intake air is oily, and the oil is seeping out of those junctions onto the outside of the hoses and throttle body. With your help, I've concluded that the turbo has seized, or at least blown a gasket or two.
I just posted a follow-up, asking if I can put an '01 9-5 Aero turbo in this '02 9-5 Linear.

I have the same noise - tracks the Turbo kicking in. Only Oil in my engine 194k. Car isn't really sluggish just makes that noise. Replace turbo?

I put engine oil in the transmission of my C 900 on a regular basis, but then that was the only option as they shared a common oil supply.
