Saab Club Australia (Vic Branch) Drive to Mt Gambier, SA (with pics)...
The Saab Club of Australia (Victoria Branch) did a drive to Mt Gambier over last weekend. It was a small gathering of 11 cars from Melbourne, but a little disappointing that only one car showed up from South Australia. But that didn't deter us in enjoying the good driving roads, good banter, good food and wines, and of course awesome cars.
Among the cars that attended were a few high performance Saabs including my Nordic custom Stage 4 2002 9-3 Aero, a friends T7Suite custom tuned 2001 9-3 Aero, and Clive's TurboX monster. The couple from SA brought along a very nice original C900 CVT. There was also a great C900 4 door, a few 9-5s and a nice 9-5 Aero wagon.
Had a mate in his 9-3 Aero blow a heater hose (with a huge white cloud out the back of his car) on a country road between towns, that then needed to be carefully bodgied up with some electrical tape to get us to the next town. Everything was shut by the time we got there so we got the car fixed the next day with a generic hose to get him home.
Stopped in at several wineries in the famous Coonawarra region of South Australia on way back and picked up two dozen awesome wines.
Took a few shots for those interested…
