actually sounds odd but it might be worth trying...
actually sounds odd but it might be worth trying to glue a bit onto the white plastic inside the rim instead as that is quite loose and that will wedge on the yellow plastic!

Maybe that might work if I pop it around the outside, but I think in the past when I have tried this type of thing there is just no strength in the tiny weld and it works about twice then cracks...

I suggest that you give it a very good clean first until it is 100% spotless. As you unscrew the plastic rim it will drop all that dirt into your tank and you will have a major issue.

Check the fuel filter and replace with Bosch...
Check the fuel filter and replace with Bosch original. Tricky but you can do with two spanners.

I suggest only use 7 NGK on anything +150bhp....
I suggest only use 7 NGK on anything +150bhp. Also change rocker cover gasket to stop leak.
OEM DIC are no good. Spend the money. Also gap sparks to correct. For 7ES.
