9-5 mk2 Infotainment Buttons Flaking Off
Noticed that the infotainment buttons on my 2010 9-5 NG are flaking off. I know this is a common issue with this model and I have ordered a remedy, but, does anyone know what causes the button coating to flake off so easily? Is it the oils on one's fingers combined poor quality materials? Do the Buicks and Cadillacs from the same years do this? Anyway, I ordered button replacement vinyl covers for them from SAAB Solutions of Indiana. The kit covers:
- ALL Navigation buttons
- ALL Radio buttons
- ALL Config/Tone/Menu buttons
- ALL climate control buttons
- Heated Seat buttons
- Cooled Seat buttons
- START button
- Parking sensor button

Someone had a guess that hand lotions might cause that, how about high temperatures? Ore long/ structure nails? In my car I have only in start button some wear and it was already when I bought the car 2 years ago. I don't yse any hand lotions and live in Finland so teperatures are in the car between -15 to +30 degrees so not so hot temperatures at least.

Contact Hugh Janda at: hjanda@kerlinmotors.com. He was very helpful and answered all my questions promptly and the replacement stickers came with detailed instructions. Fortunately, I have about 5 that need replacement and will save the rest for if and when I need them. Good Luck.
