After two full weeks of working to get Saab security access I might be able to help with this, but I need to know what year Saab your previous radio came from.

All Right Digger the donor is a 2001 not divorced already the receiver is a 2002 ( I have in mind to install aux-in on the actual 2002 head unit and keep 2001 as joker but before doing the marriage)
Thanks for your future help

The radio doesn't actually have codes, but it does get a number for the car stored in protected memory and it needs to be removed before it can be installed in a different car. The Saab term for clearing the check digit is "Divorcing". When a radio that has been "Divorced" is installed or reinstalled the display should read RADIO CODE or CDC CODE. If that is what your display, go ahead and "Marry" it to the car.
If your donor radio display is RADIO LOCKED or CODE LOCKED, it wasn't "Divorced" from the donor car and will need electronic work to clear the check digit from memory before you can install or "Marry" it to the new car. Not impossible, but for what a good used "Divorced" radio costs, not worth the cost of having it done.

okay but i've read it's possible if you put VIN number of donor then marry to the car and divorce after put the VIN of the actual car and it's done do you have heard that ? of course with tech 2

Different part of the world with different program parameters, older car, older rev level for Tech 2 software and maybe you can do it that way. Sounds like a logical course of action, certainly worth a try if you have a Tech 2.
If you have to hire it done, probably less time involved to have a radio shop set you back to factory default before you try to install.

HA ha funny to hear that, my friend in Europe and mostly in Switzerland you are so rich and stupids we don't have any business for sparing money, no turbo rebuilding, no SID refitting or ECU tuning or replacing,
And the aftermarket radios is nothing for today, people stay with the radios of original cars radios especially when they are parts of nav sys.For a tech 2, it's not a problem To find it I have around me two ex works Saab workshops which make up anymore.we are so dumb for some aspects of life.
I'll try it.Last edited by swisssaabist; 22 March 2017 at 14:10.
