P1658 Charge air bypass valve circuit open / short to ground

    2004 9-5 ARC 2.3T
recently replaced the Turbo bypass valve and the vacuum hoses and after a few hours of driving the engine light came on an this code came up. Also I noticed that I have no turbo pressure according to the gauge on the dash when I step on the gas it stays in the green at all times

    Any help on these issues???

Electrical problems are NOT my strong point.

Anyone who can explain this to me in lymans terms would be greatly appreciated

Any Persona que Pueda explicarme this in Terminos de Lymans Seria muy apreciada

    ¿Usted ha comprobado este solenoide?

It could be the solenoid but the good news is that you can bypass it as it does absolutely nothing useful. Once that is done you can connect a suitable resistor across the connector.

El solenoide puede ser cancelado si. Pero si los ingenieros de saab lo ponen para algo será.

The English word cancelled does not mean the same as Bypassed quake4. What I meant was circunvelo (I think) to go around.
The solenoid is supposed to make the operation of the Turbo (charge air) bypass valve smoother, unfortunately it doesn't it simply adds complication. The Saab 9000 has essentially the same arrangement but without the solenoid, and the associated error codes. Hence I recommend that the solenoid is bypassed to save problems. The throttle response is also somewhat quicker that way too.

Which nicely demonstrates the limitations of Google Translate.
