    Replacement Engine 2010 New Generation Saab 9-5 2.0 TID4 160 BHP Manual

Hi My well loved and cared for New Generation Saab 9-5 2.0 TID4 160 bhp with 182000 miles have jus had the crankshaft failed. I have been told that an Vauxhall/Insignia 2.0 CDTI (A20DTH) is the same engine. Do someone have the knowledge if this is indeed correct or not? Replies will be much appreciated.

Big difference is the wiring, some small differences in parts that bolt to the block, block is interchangeable.

Thanks for the reply. Can you use and swap the wiring and parts from the Saab engine on to the new Vauxhall/Opel engine and it will work?

    Hey ~wstadler,
I changed the engine in my 9-5 2.0tid4 aswell but I did something different aswell because A20DTH engines are unfortunately faulty engines and no matter what engine you will put in (new or used) it will break down aswell someday,
I changed my faulty engine to 1,9CDTI from Opel Vectra, I left only block and oil sump from older engine, I still have to remember to change from time to time that oring in the oil sump,
A20DTH had biggest problem with oil pump, thats why they were breaking down so often,
I can give you details from a workshop in Poland in town Gorzów Wielkopolski (western part of PL) where I made that swap if you are interested ofcourse.
