    I need one of those!

I may proactively pull the fuel pump and replace the o ring and other common wear parts.

Spring is here and I am getting motivated to work in the garage again.

Installed a new Fuel cap and can now rule it out as the gas smell source. Will try fuel pump O ring next and sniff around the filler neck and hose.

Also changed out the valve cover gasket and stopped my small oil leak.

I am going to get an Abbot Racing exhaust and Springs this year and continue to fix up little things here and there.

Took the car to a pretty good body shop for a paint job estimate and was floored with the $5 to 7K price tag for a "real good" job.

I have an 85 and the dreaded crappy wire syndrome. I repaired all the engine bay wires while integrating the Trionic system leaving the wiring to the doors as a weak link in adjusting my mirrors and being able to pay tools on the turnpike. I am looking at getting a set of 12 pin automotive connectors and xlink wire and redoing the entire system for each door.

    Whoo Hoo

Entered our first rally a couple of weeks ago. After a few mistakes and a little domestic disharmony Barb and I got our act together and finished 3rd from the bottom, Yea...

Since then I installed a crack free dash replaced my inoperative tachometer, adjusted the top position on my clutch, re positioned the dash lights so I no longer have a permanent fasten your seat belt indicator. I also got a Leather wrapped steering wheel that needs installing. And the icing on the cake is my Russian fighter jet cockpit clock shipped directly from the Ukraine. I have a spare glove box door in which I'll mount the clock for rally weekends. Also thinking on a more accurate Speedometer than the stock unit figuring a 1% error is 36 seconds per hour.

Next up are some better springs. With 300K miles on them the stock springs are kind of soft and the rear has sagged in typical C900 fashion making the car appear as if its lifting off while cruising down the road. Thinking Swedish Dynamics or Abbot Racing for vendors discounting the cheaper often far east vendors. I already have fitted Koni Red dampers which really do smooth out the ride as compared to the KYB GR2 models that came with the car. Anybody have experience with Abbot or Swedish Dynamix?

Popped for the Abbot racing springs. Tried to order from Swedish Dynamics, but no response....
Should be here in a week or so and I'll shoot photos of the install.

Will those lower the ride height at all?

The springs arrived safe and sound from the old country, lots of bubble wrap.

I installed the front springs today, took a few hours.

The front is lower and ride is improved quite a bit. May do the fronts tomorrow.

Did the rears this morning and it was a lot quicker than the fronts.
Note on the passenger side you need to remove the shock to get clearance for spring removal.

The overall improvement to the ride is astounding, it feels like a much more modern car.
Greatly reduced body roll without ARB's.
Matched with Koni red shocks at setting 2 the ride is stiffer but not to the point of annoyance.

I ride mostly back roads and this combination works well.
It only lowers the car 1 1/2" but you can feel it in the car, the driving position and vantage point feel a bit different.
It does urge you to drive faster and use more boost.....

Noticed I need a new exhaust and torque rod bushings, never ending cycle...

$5-7k for a repaint? Is the car being rotisserie'd? I've gotten quotes in my area of between $3-4k, and I thought that seemed a bit high. Your car looks nice from the pictures...much better than mine, which has clear coat damage over 50% of the body.

Edit: By the way, where are you ordering the wiring and connectors for your doors?
