Welcome to our world! CA is a big state. North, South, coastal, desert or somewhere in between?

    Welcome!

We all have to start sometime. I first owned a Saab during its heyday when the 900 turbo was considered the best sports sedan or hatchback on the planet. I had a non-turbo, though, as I thought only rich people had turbos. In 2005, I finally got a Saab with a turbo! Of course, all the 9-3's in the U.S. had turbos by then.

It's a small town near Los Angles . I love the beach and coastal area.

    Hi (and welcome).
Can you let me know what the 9-2 was? Not had one here 95,96.99.9-3,9-5 were the ones I can remember.

Wasn't the 9-2x basically a Subaru WRX rebranded in Saab trim?

    Not a 'real' SAAB then?
What was the rationale behind this? 4x4 or a different market?
Quite academic really but may be the model of things for the future if NEVS was to fail and Mahindra was to move in.
    Thanks in the meantime,

I saw one at the repair garage I've gone to a few times, and having never seen one before did some research on it. Apparently this was during the period when GM owned both Saab and Subaru, and GM wanted a 'small' 4x4. You could call it a "Saabaru" !! GM sold the "Saab 9-2x" for only two years, and charged extra for it since it was badged as a Saab. One review I read about the then new 9-2x was that you'd get the same car for less $$ by buying a WRX. The good news is that you'll be able to find (certain) parts easier than others in the group.

Thanks for the answer. Never seen or heard of one here Subaru and SAAB yes. Just as I noticed when I was in Arkansas I saw a Metro(?) which was nothing like the one I had at the time which was a small hatchback designed as a 'big brother' to the original Mini to fill the gap in the BL range and compete against the Audi 50 / VW Polo, Ford Fiesta, Fiat 127 etc.

I was at a tire & wheels store today and picked up a copy of "european car" magazine while waiting. I got onto their website and naturally wanted to see what they had to say about Saabs. I found this article, a 7 part series discussing the 9-2x !! [ 9-2X | Research 9-2X and find Photos, Articles, Videos, Blogs and Forums at European Car Magazine ]
    Very good info !!

I also found a glowing review about the my2001 9-5 Aero wagon which had been a year-long project.
