    Question Intermittent Blinking Engine Light

Hi. I start to notice that my engine light blinks when I step on the gas to pick up speed (of course).
    this is shows intermittently.
What do I need to check?

Until the engine light stays on, then that's the only time I can check the code.

    I would appreciate your comment.

    Thank you.

    Percy

Codes, as the culprit could be one of many

With no codes at hand, is my first thought misfire, caused by spark plugs or / and the DI cassette. Verify that correct plugs are installed, and in good working order. If so, could a test with a another DI be the next step.

Codes still may be stored, even when the engine light comes on intermittently. I think this is what happened when my DIC started to fail and a code was stored. So definitely hook up an OBD2 reader and check it out.

    Thank you for the comments.
I will replace the spark plugs and if still misfires then I will check the DIC.
I will check if the code is stored too.

I will post what I'll find out.

Update : I had only replaced my spark plugs and for now I have not seen the same Fault code.

    Currently, I have P1110 / P0300 > I will check other threads for suggestions.

Thanks a lot for the replies.

    Codes
P1110 - Charge Air Bypass Valve - Bypass valve control unit is failing - ( this sits on the fire wall right under the main engine wire harness )

P0300 Random Misfire - DIC needs to be replaced or Your spark plugs are fouling out.

Answer these questions these are some symptoms I described in another post.

    1. When the check engine light is Flashing, do you continue to accelerate or do you release throttle?
(If you continue to accelerate, does it feel like you lost power - not properly boosting -

    2. After the Blinking of the CEL (engine light) does it go away?

    3. When you accelerate your car "WOT" (wide open throttle) does your boost gauge get to the red and holds or does it stay "Yellow sagging" and then Boom the blinking engine light??? ( around 3.5k- 4.5k RPM)

Please answer so I can assist. thank you

    Hi.
I had searched for the possible reasons for the code P1110 / P0300 and I found the fix.
I had replaced all old vac lines and the fault did not show up already.
I thought that I needed to replace BPV but I did not see the short vac line from the control valve to the manifold.
For now, no fault codes showing up.

Thank you for the replies. I appreciate it.

This is my first time ever on this forum, and I was looking for this type of problem, and in the past my car's check engine has blinked and the gone away after accelerating, but now my car all of a sudden got a check engine light. I still haven't checked the code, but I'm curious to know if it is in relation to the acceleration?

related to bypass valve in most cases or vacuum lines... check that and after you can investigate for other things if it not have working.
Anyway without codes reading you fly blind ....
