Categories and Sections for the front page

Articles can appear in sections. It is similar to newspaper sections. For example the WSJ:

World
U.S.
Business
Markets
Tech
Personal Finance

Articles can belong to 1 or more categories. For example, at SaabWorld, you can think of:

Press releases
Green technology
Media
Advertising
Editorial
History
Restorations
Social networking
Saab meetings/conventions
People
United Kingdom
Canada
Sweden

We have quite a number of articles now and it would be nice if we can use Sections and Categories so it is easier to find articles you're interested in. It's sometimes difficult to see the difference between categories and sections and some may overlap.

Any ideas?

For sections, I can think of these:

Company/Corporate
People
Cars
Culture
Historic
Events (car shows, conventions, meets)
Regional/Countries (perhaps make sub-sections like Europe, North America etc)
