6 disc changer in 2010 9-3?
Guys:
I'n curious if anyone knows. Is the 6 disc CD changer an available option in 2010's? I'm thinking maybe I just want to change the speakers but leave the stock head unit in and add the 6 disc changer if it's available or even can be done. So does anyone know for sure one way or the other?"Life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans." ----John Lennon

The only available CD changer is an in-dash model. It's basically the same head unit as the single disc head unit but can load 6 discs. There isn't an optional external CD changer.
The in-dash changer was standard on Aero models and was included in the Bose Audio.

A few places list these part numbers: 12774893, 12777443, 12779270
Suggested Saab list price for the 12779270 is $1,568, according to the GenuineSaab website. Your best source would an automotive recycler. There are a few websites where you can search. Most show a price of about $150-300 which doesn't seem too bad of a price.

I don't know what the differences between the 3 part numbers are. My Saab EPC is only up to 2004 so I can't look up the part numbers for later models. The Saab WIS doesn't show anything about Tech2 needed for changing out the head unit. You'll need to remove the center air vent panel but it seems an easy swap. I can post the instructions if you need them.
