key not accepted
Dear members!
I am a new member of your community, with a huge hope...
Seeking for help on the above mentioned title.
Before a month stopped my "new" vehicle and 2 days ago tried to start. The answer was "key not accepted". Beside that the central lock is out of order as well. I tried both keys none of them worked.
I know of course the way to teach the keys but it did not worked. (In ignition press 4-5 times the OPEN button)
It seems to me that the bendix gets power but could not turn the engine.
Main battery voltage OK, and remote battery seems as well OK.
When I parked everything was fine...
Any idea what could happen???
Many Thanks!

welcome Tamas to SAABworld.
try to disconnect the battery negative terminal for a while to reset the electric system and reconnect again for a new check control to see if the CIM recognize the keys.
good luck

I'm not sure about the exact time, but I've always waited 10 for 15 min for good measure.

Thanks Shazam!
But....I pull my Saab to a workshop and the expert says that I need to change the TWICE unit. It can not get the ground on nr.70 leg...(although wire is OK)
He is ALMOST? sure that the problem is this.
We checked the TWICE inside as well, and there is no soldering error. The circuit board is multileveled, so we could not check each level for the bad connection.
...and of course the check-computer can not communicate with the TWICE.
From the other point of view it is interesting because on test mode we could send orders for example to the doors. (1 by 1)
I am really getting deep my pretty although it was not among my plans....

What's the price cost for changing out the TWICE unit? Sounds like it could be that, but it also sounds a little above me head. Good luck, and let us know how it turns out.

I looked around in the WIS but there wasn't any info about this specific problem. There is an antenna/receiver in the ignition switch. Perhaps that's the problem? I am just guessing here..
From the WIS:
Immobilization
The car is fitted as standard with a system which prevents the car being started without the correct key. For this, a transponder is incorporated into the key with a code unique to that particular transponder.
On the ignition switch there is a receiver which receives the identification code from the transponder and passes this information on to TWICE. TWICE has been programmed to recognize the car's transponders and if the key in the ignition switch is one of the right ones, the car can be started.
The immobiliser must be joint-programmed with the control module after changing a component in the chain. This applies when changing TWICE, MIU, Trionic 7.

Thanks for everybody again!
Sorry for late answer but I took my little girl to the cinema....
WULF...as I wrote the problem is that the TWICE can not communicate with a service computer. It brings a lot's of error but one of them which is almost impossible the ground problem with TWICE. It lights that on leg 70 no ground. Although with control-lamp there is...
We checked also the antenna/receiver which seems OK. According the wiring diagram it is a simple antenna without any power. (WIS) Is it?
José...which one is the CIM?
