This refers to a touchscreen Denso navigator in a MY04.
I'm currently using a 2005 maps DVD. If I put a 2009 DVD just to test it, will it be a problem to use again de 2005?
I have seen some cars that refused to accept an older than last used DVD. Fortunately, there was a combination of key presses that took you to a "secret" menu in which you were able to force the downgrade.
Thanks

I have a 2005 and 2008 DVD and the 2005 version works fine after using 2008.

Frank, the factory Nav unit, does it have a separate DVD drive, or do the Nav Map DVDs load in the front slot? I know all Nav equipped cars have the trunk mounted 6disc changer, which makes me wonder if the headunit slot is strictly for the map DVD, and not audio CDs. Thanks! Sorry to revive an old thread.

The head unit has only one slot and can be used for the map DVD, regular audio CDs and CDs with MP3 files. The changer in the back only plays regular audio CDs.

So does the headunit import the DVD data and store it so you can play CDs and use the Nav function at the same time?

Unfortunately not. The map DVD has to be in the head unit slot at all times when using the navigation system.

Well I guess that's okay with me, I rarely play CDs. And if I do, that's what the CD changer is for. I'll have to find an excellent ipod FM modulator now since I'll be giving up my beloved cassette player. =( Thanks for the great info, as usual! It's much appreciated!
