Sounds like a vacuum leak. Check all your vacuum lines, and see if one is cracked or rotting out. Sounds early for an '07 for a vac leak though.

Its the 2.0 T aero
the plugs where the NGK PFR6H-10
since the service and plug changed all seems to be running better apart from the hesitation it hesitates between 3-4000 revs mainly but you can notice it at diff revs but not as much and as i say the idle is not great. i will check hoses tomorrow for leaks.
it has 52000 miles and when i changed the plugs the outer edge of the plugs had soot on them but not on the node and the exhaust is also black with soot
thanks

wrong plugs:
NGK PFR6H-10 does not fit your 2007 Saab 9-3 2.0 T Aero as you can see in the web sites:
Amazon.com: NGK (6290) PFR6H-10 Laser Platinum Spark Plug, Pack of 1: Automotive
NGK.com - Vehicle Fitting Results
for your car, you can use
Spark Plug Bosch FR-6-DPP-22U Bosch FR-6-KPP-33X+ NGK PFR6T-10G (5542) (4 Per Car)

i have tried shell petrol for the last few tanks but still no change
i normally use 95 octane but have tried shell v power which is around 98 but i have been using 95 for ages with no problems.
i have checked for leaks today and nothing stands out there is what sounds like a leak coming from the metal pipes next to air filter and engine but im not sure if this is anything to do with the turbo
thanks

some questions:
are you a city driver? I mean your ride for short distances...
do you know how much percentage of biodiesel in the gasoline contend is allowed in the UK? i.e. in Spain 7%, France 5%, and somewhere else 30%.
biodiesel is not good for gasoline engines produce a lot of moisture and pollution in the spark plugs.
I use for the Astra 2.0 95 octanes with no issues and for Saab 98 octanes.

What kind of hesitation are you experiencing? a more common problem with the 2.0s is the standard coilpack blow and cause motor hesitation when accelerating. the hesitation that you can experience is like a stutter or a misfire.
pull out your coil pack and pull off the rubber igniter line look for any cracks next to the igniter all my blown coils had these cracks along them
