Okay, it's easy to get confused at this point.

The gap (and remember it's a gap - your drawing has it filled in not removed) has to be 20 slots from the CPS when the engine is at TDC. As your drawing shows it, your CPS is at TDC - I suspect that you don't have it mounted there. What you have marked as TDC is actually CPS position, i.e. CPS has to be there when the engine is at TDC.

Clear as mud, right? It's 6 months or more since I did this, I hope I'm giving you the right info!

Also, I think that this view is looking from the front of the engine to the rear of the car - in other words, if it was sat on the bench, you'd have to flip it over to fit it to the flywheel

I get it will redraw sometime this evening.

Do not have it mounted at all. Plant to put the cps in a similar location to where you located yours.
View was assumed to be from crank shaft looking towards flywheel. Realized I did a filled gap after I posted the Pic Easy fix.

Will also make a gauge that fits over the crank, aligns with TDC and locates the CPS. A simple laser cut piece of sheet metal.

Looks like I am stuck till I get my motor back from the motor shop to my workshop.

Need to have a fixed point of reference for the CPS mounting in it's relation to TDC before the slot can be located.

Anyone know the angle or slot count from TDC to where the CPS is/could be located?

    This a bit better?

Will need to wait for my motor to be back so I can place the VR sensor and reference it to TDC then reference the slot.

The right thing to do - it's quite easy once you have it figured out in your head, and you have the engine in front of you.
