'Fairly recent acquisition. We sold off my fiancee's dilapidated '85 900S, and my '67 MGB and '81 Jaguar projects; 'let her pick what she wanted and I'd back whatever she chose. (I didn't worry about her choosing a Beige, we don't roll that way.) After passing up a rotten VW Thing, she chose this '72 Super Beetle. I consider myself very lucky to have such a lady.

The Captain of the Pan Am 747 that went down in Scotland drove a green Beetle like that. I asked him why since the commute from JFK to home was a long one. He was so sick and tired of technology by the end of the day the Bug was refreshing.
