    The Headliner in the 9-3SS

Who thinks it's ugly as sin?

I have a hour drive each way to campus so that gives me a LOT of time to look at things. The only criticism other than the cheap leather is the headliner fabric. Oh my god, it looks so freaking cheap. It feels cheap. It's too holey. It reminds me of the steam radiator covers they used back in the 1970s/1980s.

I'm driving and all I can do is just stare at the headliner fabric on the headliner and the pillar covers...

Shouldn't you be looking at the road when you're driving?
I don't think the headliner is that bad.

I've thought about having it recovered but the headliner seems to be a pain to take out.

It would be parchment suede since I have parchment interior.

I do look at the road, the pillars are right in my line of view and it's covered in the same fabric.

I don't have any complaints about mine. Did they change from 05 to 07?

The leather is crap, my drivers seat side bolster looks like hell. I'm going in nest week and see if they'll address it.

Mines gray leather with parchments inserts.

They mus a lot of different on the 9-3 vs the 9-5. The headliner in my 9-5 is generic stuff, but it seems high quality, soft and it looks nice. The leather has been very durable too. Still looks new at 82k.

The leather got much better for MY2012, it actually looks real now.

I've been thinking about recovering mine in suede. I do agree that it is a bit on the budget looking side of things.

The leather in the Aeros is a joke as well. Saab paid to have my drivers seat touched up. That lasted about 6 months, I'm back to the condition it was when I purchased. Maybe even worse. Oh well. One of those things I'll have redone some day.

It's not uncommon in Europe to have seats re-upholstered with leather. Completely changes the look and feel of the interior.

Compared to my old '99 Saab the leather is a small step down, but its much much better than several other automakers attempts. The leather still looks great on my '06 parchment with black inserts.
