    <thinks>
    Wasn't that intended for use on cars with dual-vent bonnets, to stop water from the vent getting into the master?

    Saabs I bought from '79 thro' about '83 had two two vent bonnets, but the false vent was blocked off underneath by a plate on the bonnet. Don't remember seeing a funny mc cover.

    Nice to see you here Adrian. At least I'll have someone to spar with.

    Brake master cylinder cover...
    Reads "This cover must always be remounted in position after checking or refilling of brake fluid." Saab p/n 8947558

    I also have original saab ski racks (early style), which I assume are also on the rare side.

    Yes, I had some of those too, until the kids decided they wanted to join in. Ended up with an OEM Saab ski-box to put all their paraphernalia in. Reduced the MPG so much on a long journey that I decided it was cheaper to hire the stuff.

    The OEM Saab racks - how can you tell? My SPG had a set on it that I pulled off, but haven't gotten around to actually looking at the things. Is Saab written on them somewhere?

    So I also have the newer black OEM saab and volvo racks (slightly different foot packs, but they fit) made by thule (they both say either volvo or saab on the end). My older racks are shiny and also say saab on the end.

    I'll have to look but I think they say Saab on the feet

    Regardless they'll be up for sale shortly, I'm cleaning out my closet[read: making room in the shop for a B202 rebuild]

    Here's another obscure Saab accessory. I'd forgotten about this, but it's a circular spare 5L petrol (gas) can. I bought this with my very first 900 in late '78. It fitted inside the spare wheel cavity. On early 900s, before the advent of space-saver spare wheels, the full size spare wheel sat upright on the LHS inside the hatch boot. Much like the later verts did with a space-saver. This spare can sat inside it. I'm glad I kept it and it's stowed inside my vert's spacer-saver. Could have been made for it.
