    Headlight Leveling Malfunction!

I just got this after receiving it from the body shop.

I was wondering: is there anything I can check before having the Saab dealer or an indy look at it?

Any help would be appreciated! I'll have to check over on the other site if no one knows but I wanted to try here first.

Are the lights actually auto leveling? Did you try unhooking the battery for 10 minutes to see if it will reset?

Hmmm, what was done on the car at the bodyshop? Were they working around front area of the car near the headlights?
If they were working fine before, and now they don't work, I would suspect the bodyshop messed something up (the motor or module).
Then again, I don't what region on your car they were working on.

Yes, they were working on the front end and the passenger side. They did remove the bumper to repair the bumper. Where is the motor, do you know?

I have not checked the auto-leveling nor reset the battery.

I disconnected the battery. It does not solve the problem. I did a quick look, it was blowing outside so I made it a quick glance, hopefully it'll warm up soon so I can comfortably look over.

I drove it last night home and the light pattern doesn't seem any different, the right one seems higher than the left one but it could be that the right one is at the correct height and the left one isn't or the opposite could be true.

    Lancaster UK ??

I'm sitting here in relative sunshine (moon now), and thinking "blowing" ..

I thought Lancaster PA ... you mean as in the bomber.

Take a known quantity .. mark the beams center on the garage wall a few feet away. Just a bit of tape .. a spot.

Pull the Saab to the same spot and shut down then turn on to actuate. Some of the time I could clearly see motion .. a few it was not noticeable.

From what I understand regarding the different light heights is on the driver side, the light is aimed lower as to avoid blinding oncoming cars. Mine is the same way.

Are you sure you have auto leveling?

Did you ever notice that your headlights "rolled" a bit when you started the car before?

How about putting some roof shingles or other heavy object in the trunk, do you notice anything happen?
