It has 200 000 miles, if anything, "worn" engines like to spin faster than new ones, and don't care too much if there is oil in them or not (while a new one seizes immediately) :p

Got a couple of thousand miles on it at this point mostly back road riding and the oil is still pretty clean all the fluids are holding. Noticing some slop and squeaking from the front suspension.

No, the guts have gone by 5.5K, no point in revving more. This is normal on an N/A. I also think you have been spoilt by your turbo.

Got around to messing with Threepwood again today.
Thinking of selling him as the kids are off to college sharing the 9K and there is no real need to have him around.
Been driving him around, perhaps 2000 miles. Figured I would check the timing since my buddy has a timing light.
Pulled off the vacuum advance hose and or some odd reason blew into it, no resistance, in either direction.
Is it probable that no advance would lead to very poor acceleration? Ordered a new advance unit from Amazon for $15.75 shipped.
Also the timing was 15 degrees BTDC when it's supposed to be 20 according to Mr. Bently.

If your timing is retarded it will certainly make your engine feel sluggish, more so if your dizzy capsule is ruptured. I would start with an advance of 18°, 20° seems a bit too much to me, despite what Bentley says.
