Help with rough running 93 9K CSE diagnosis

Daughter is driving home from a College road trip to Pittsburgh and her 9K is bucking, Her description.

She has to down shift on steep up hills and can't go over 35

Does not seem to be over boost as it happens with boost in mid yellow.

Possibly a bad DIC or water temp sensor?

Sounds like a mis-firing cylinder (usually the result of a bad DIC)... should be throwing a code though. My 900 displayed a code on the SID... not sure if the 9000's have a SID or similar.

    Thanks Mike,

The CEL has been on for a while. Codes read from a flashing CEL when the motor is not running. When she stops to drop her friend off she is going to call me and we will walk through the process. She is amazingly nonplussed for being in this situation. Two weeks ago she was tooling around Manhattan in the car.

Rachel called in with 6 flashes indicating a bad 02 sensor.

Agree a bad 02 could cause the rough running?

Think I'll need new plugs as well.

    Additional Clues

I should note this is a TCS car. TCS light is lit, but everything operates normally?

Rachel got home about 10:00 and told me the car started to run much better when it started to rain? Sent her back to school in the 900

I took a ride this morning and it was running rough and would not pull very hard verified the 6 flash CEL code. Needs Rotors cut!
Reset the ECU, did an adaption run up a long hill near me, then tool a 3 mile ride with several long hard pulls.
Pulled really well into the yellow red area on the boost gauge. Sure it is regular fuel.

After returning home I noticed the car would run a bit rough at idle and even as I reved the motor up and down, misfire?

Ordered plugs and 02 sensor. Looks like fun to change the sensor.

Normally a misfire will give you something that is pretty harsh... something that I would call stronger than "rough".

So far I'd stick with the 02 sensor, but that would only cause the car to run too rich or too lean... which could lead to a little sputtering/rough running.

    Hmmm...

It's not that rough and does seem a bit rich.

How he heck is the lead for the O2 sensor routed?
I go the clamp on the AC compressor off, but can't feel where the next one is.
Cold and snowing outside so I bailed for the night. Anyone have a link to a diagram of were the bolts are?
