"Forever Black" What am I doing worng?

Either I suck or this stuff does. I tried to recondition the trim on my 9-5 and got through the washing process just fine, but when I pressed the bottle of reconditioner onto the trim a huge amount spilled out all over everything leaving two huge black streaks down my white car. I was expecting a gel, so I freaked a bit and started scrubbing it off the car. I got it off, after much scrubbing, but I'm concerned if I should go on, if it will stain the paint....Help?

Never mind. I searched it on the Youtube. I feel stupid because I just pressed the applicator right onto it, when I was supposed to be moving it as I pressed down on it....oops. haha It looks really good! Thought I only got half done....
