Come on out for a day of beautiful Spring driving with your NEFLSC friends.... enjoy the sun, the company, the sun, the food, and the scenery.

Exact details for the 2011 Scenic Drive will be posted soon (watch this space!), but the plan is for a sort-of Round-Robin, multi check point trip (one of which will be lunch), where participants can join up or drop-off at their leisure.
Before I post all the details, I need to drive the route to get exact mileage and ETA's, so keep watch on this space for more info!

DETAILS: (Still finalising... subject to change!)

Start: 11:00AM, Saturday April 16th (Meet at 10:30)
Flying J Truck Stop/Denny's Restaurant, SR 206 & I-95 near St. Augustine
Meet in the northwest corner of the Denny's lot.

Finish: 2:00PM (approximate) Lunch at Lighthouse Landing Restaurant, Ponce Inlet

In-between we will take a look at a bit of the original Dixie Highway, with bricks laid in 1915; Explore a bit of the Scenic Ormond Loop; Take a rest at the Tomb of James Ormond; and have lunch overlooking the historic "Mosquito" Inlet in the shadow of one of the most beautiful lighthouses in the world.


Itinerary:

Meet at 10:30am.

Depart at 11:00am.

Explore about 1 mile of the original, 96 year old, brick Dixie Highway at approximately 11:30am. Photo opportunity.

Enter the Scenic Ormond Loop at 12:15pm.

Stop at James Ormond Park at 12:30pm. Photo opportunity. Playground for kids. Restrooms. The tomb of James Ormond. (Really!)http://www.ormondbeach.org/facilitie...32&Page=detail

Depart James Ormond Park at 1:00pm.
