Other projects include my 2005 Lotus Elise, Mostly driving it, but a bunch of updates and mods I want to do, upgrading my dam old house, keeping my kids Saabs running till they get their careers in gear. Daughter has a 97 9K Aero, Son has a 2003 93. I also fly RC and am looking at FPV racing.
I also bought some land in Vermont and plan to build a retirement house there.

Put a new alternator on the 85 last night. The Daughter calls at midnight the night before, the car died in the middle of nowhere and I had to go retrieve her and the car. "How long has the red light been on?" "Oh, a few days".....
Did it in the dark with a flashlight. Took it for a shake down and adaption cruise and really enjoyed the drive.

Who knows if I catch up with all that.....

My Wife talked me into keeping the 85, completing all the projects and getting it painted.

Yes, after 30 years i'll keep her. She talked me into buying the Elise as well, and she likes Land Rovers....

The 85 code named Vader by my daughter who loves Star Wars has just done 3K miles as a DD while her 97 9K Aero (code name Millennium Falcon, fastest hunk of junk on the highway) had issues. Solved those issues and returned it to service and got Vader back. Turns out the PS pump or Rack has been leaking profusely like a pint a day. My daughter sez the PS fluid is cheap and I did not want to bother you. It leaks out overnight. So add that to my list....

Hope to resurrect this thread with tales of updates this summer.

Repaired the PS pump and installed a new water pump while I was at it. Vader is currently serving Daily Driver duties for my Wife as her Discovery swallowed its tongue and has been beached for 2 months. 5 degrees and it fires right up and burbles nicely.

    hey mate

quick question about the 5.2 trigger setup

what crank pulley and what aperture wheel do you need?

    I have a 1990 c900 with CPS, think its 2.0, lucas ?? 2.4? does this work with t5.2?

cant find the old t5.2 threads that have the info,,, my car is t5.5, but i'm going aircon and am lazy so rather than make another custom trigger setup I was thinking if I could just use the existing crank pulley, aperture wheel and cps then i'd be in business.

You need the trigger wheel from DI/APC car 91 or 92 I think

    Time for another update.

My wife was driving he car and it died. Domestic harmony field distorted.
Turned out to be the CPS which in my case was the Hall effect senor with a 93 T5.1 trigger wheel. Since you cant get new Hall Sensors figured I would upgrade to T5.5
Bought one of Mike D.s Trigger wheel kits and a Email tune. I installed the trigger wheel which can be done topside only but there is a certain amount of "By feel only" technique required. Flashed up a 20MhZ ECU and cranked it. No CPS signal. Quick Email with Mike and a tweak to the CPS Trigger wheel spacing and Wala, car fired right up. Found I had a high idle issue which turned out to be the PCV valve which leaked when warm, PITA to diagnose. Car runs really well on T5.5.

Wife now says I can carry on with the project.
