Reuters is reporting a deal may happen this weekend. It's pretty early to start speculating which company it could be and the long term effects for Saab. Hopefully, it'll be just a financial investment.

"a source with knowledge of the matter said" is not really a credible news source so who knows.

I hope these financial troubles will be a thing of the past soon so Saab doesn't have to scramble for money.

Saab talks with Chinese automakers near deal-source | Reuters

May 29 (Reuters) - Spyker-owned (SPYKR.AS) carmaker Saab is in talks with Chinese automakers Great Wall Motor Co Ltd (2333.HK), China Youngman Automobile Group and Jiangsu Yueda Group over a potential investment deal, a source with knowledge of the matter said on Friday.

"The negotiations are very far advanced and should produce results over the weekend," the source said.

Saab has been scrambling to find funding to pay suppliers after several stopped delivering parts, bringing Saab's assembly line to a standstill for much of April.

Spyker has previously said it is in talks with various Chinese automakers, but not identified them. A source earlier on Friday identified Great Wall as one of the companies.
