    Replacement Xenon bulbs

Ok, so I've been having some trouble with my headlights.

Found that the driver's control module was shot. Got a replacement from Goldwing Saab (great guys by the way, very supportive of the Saab community).
Swapped it in on Sunday, installed a pair of new D1S (from DDM Tuning) bulbs, 5000K.
    They looked great!

Drove the car and everything worked just fine ... until this morning.
Light on the dash indicating light out.
Checked and sure enough, driver's side is out again.

The difference between now and before is that it takes several seconds before the light comes on.
Before I changed the module, it was on instantly.
So, I'm assuming bad bulb at this point.
I have others and will try that tonight.

Looking for any other thoughts people may have.

Don't the bulbs start to change color when they go bad? Turn to a pinkish color?

Yes, that is when they are at the end of their life ... but if the bulb just blows or the ballast is no good, they just won't work.

No idea ... they came to me directly from China (imaging how shocked I was about that).
They have no markings on them at all.
I bought them from DDM Tuning, who is supposed to be a reputable seller.
Their LED bulbs are the best I have found so far.

As with spark plugs for the 9-5, I would only trust brands that are known to be good quality and a good match. Brands like Osram, Sylvania and Philips are a bit more expensive but you get what you pay for. I am not saying the ones you have are bad quality but you just don't know for sure.

Well, other than the junk out there, there really are only 2 manufacturers of Xenon bulbs, they just re-brand for the others.
I will try the other bulb I have and see what happens ... actually, I'll move it first from the passenger side (since I know that works) then put the other one in there.

It just seems strange that everything was fine up to getting in the car this morning.
What happened between the time I turned the car off last night to starting it today?

When I got out to the car to go home last night (it was after 9:00pm, fully dark), neither of the headlights was working!
I am baffled ... no clue what is going on.
Drove home with the fogs on ... good thing I have really bright LED's for city lights ...

I am picking up 2 Philips D1S bulbs this afternoon.

I'll completely remove the headlight assemblies and replace the bulbs.
I noticed this morning that I wasn't even hearing the Xenon adjustment motors, so something has been tripped by these bulbs.
Removing the assemblies should reset whatever needs to be and installing new "stock" bulbs should work fine after that (fingers AND toes crossed!!!).

Otherwise, I have MUCh bigger problems.

Ive had great luck with my Philips. I would check the fuses and relays if you havent done so already.
